Is Partial Knee Replacement Possible Without Removing Nail In Right Tibia?

I had a Lottie's nail inserted into my right tibia. About 50 years ago. Now I am in need of a total knee replacement. The Lottie's nail is not a problem, except that it will be in the way of the replacement material. Is a partial replacement possible without removing the lattes nail?

hi
I have studied the case.If there is an indication for total knee then partial knee replacement may not be adequate, latter is done on upper end of tibia on inner side (antero-medial) when this side is having bony spurs(osteophytes and ACL ligament (an inner ligament) which should be intact.Total knee is considered for advanced damage to joint and destruction of inner joint structures, which probably is your case, for doctor to advise for total knee
For either , removal of lottes nail may bring no harm
Regards
