Is Pelvic Infection Causing Vomiting, Diarrhea, Headaches, Fatigue And Heartburn Or Am I Pregnant?

I am 27 years old, off birth control pill for 9 months. No birth control used except rhythm. Last had sex 12-31-13. First day last period was 12-11-13, period due 1-11-14/1-12-14 and nothing. Was in ER Jan 4, 2014, diagnosed with pelvic infection(pain, vomiting, diarrhea, low fever) though never shown on testing, prescribed doxycycline, 2x day for 10 days. Very frequent heartburn, headaches, fatigue. Could I be pregnant? Is it too early to test? Could an infection be causing the late period and antibiotics some of the symptoms? I have never missed a period except when I was pregnant with my daughter 8 years ago. ER did urine test, vaginal ultrasound, pelvic ultrasound, ct scan and blood work. Gyno also did pee test. Have cramps/back ache like impending period and nothing. What should I do? Test, not test? Do I need a blood test?

Hi, thank you for asking Healthcare magic.
I have gone through your query and understood your concerns.
When the body is subjected to stress (by an infection or psychological), the menstrual cycle might be disturbed leading to a delay or absence of menses.
Also during an infection, stress ulcers can develop in the stomach leading to heartburn.
It could also be possible that you are pregnant. It is not early to do a pregnancy test now.
I would suggest you do a home pregnancy test to clear off your doubts and may be take a proton pump inhibitor like omeprazole (Prilosec over-the-counter) and antacids to control the heartburn.

I hope that answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. We will be delighted to answer more questions from you.
I wish you good health
