Is Pelvic Pressure Like Starting Of Periods Normal After Merina Insertion?

I just got a Mirena last Thursday and am having some pelvic pressure, almost like the feeling of starting your period. How do I know when this is not normal anymore? Or is this not normal? I should not be due for my period until the middle of this month.

Hi,

Mild discomfort and pain can happen after insertion of IUD like Mirena especially on the first days of usage.

Generally, it will settle on its own and you can take analgesics like Ibuprofen or Meftal for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist, you can consult your gynecologist and check whether the IUD has misplaced or not.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
