Is Period Pains Normal Despite No Visible Menstruation?

Hi.. Ive recently had a laprotomy (2wks ago) to remove 2 cysts on both my right & left ovaries, 5 & 6cm wide. Ive also had removal of any adhesions caused by endo. Since my op, Ive been placed on hormone treatment Prostap to prevent any bleeds. My tubes are normal. I was due on my period. Is it normal to still experience period pains although no visible bleed.
