Is Peroxide Appropriate To Use For Hard Clumps Of Earwax In A Child?
my four yr old niece has hard clumps of earwax that bothers her. Her doctor told her mother to use peroxide, but when it is poured in it takes about a minute to go down in the canal. Afterwards you can see a whitest ring in the canal. What is this and what should we do about this?

Hi,
I have gone through your query; and suggests you that peroxide is not appropriate to use for hard clumps of ear wax in a child because it may perforate the ear drum due to the bubbles produced by it.
Therefor better to use the wax softener such as
1. 5% sodium bicarbonate ear drop 5 drops 5 times a day.
2. 2% paradichlorobenzen with 15% TURPENTINE OIL in a oily base 5 drops 5 times a day.
3. Almonds oil may be used.
