Is Persistent Bleeding And Spotting Post Intercourse A Cause For Concern?

Hi I have a question I lost my virginity 5 years ago.. The problem is that yesterday I had sex with my partner and I bleed so much that I thought I was in my period. But the thing is that he cut me a part of my hymen... And I don t know how to stop the bleeding.. I m spotting what should I do?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Bleeding after having intercourse could be due to trauma or injury to the hymen.
The bleeding due to trauma usually stops within few hours.
However, if the bleeding is profuse and not stopping, you need to consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment.
The bleeding site needs to be controlled by cautery or bandaging.
If there bleeding stops or is very scant, you may wait for it to stop completely.
