General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Osteoporosis is a disease where there is decreased bone strength, which increases the risk of fracture of bones. It is due to lower than normal peak bone mass and greater than normal bone loss.
Hence, going to gym and doing physical activity will only supplement in gaining muscle strength. It is not a substitute for the treatment for osteoporosis.
The treatment for osteoporosis aims at strengthening the bones by supplementation of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and vitamin D, which are essential for bone remodelling.
Kindly continue with the medications and do your routine physical activity to keep your bones and muscles fit and healthy.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
