Is Pregnancy Possible After A Ventral Hernia Repair Surgery?

I recently had surgery (Jan 2017) for a ventral hernia repair. The surgeon told me he found that my stomach muscles deteriorated and that my stomach lining was very thin in some spots. I ve recently lost 45 pounds and I am continuing on to lose 100 in total. Which would then leave me at 219 pounds. I have two children and would really like a third. If I lose my weight, is it still possible to have a safe pregnancy?

Hi,

You said you had a surgery for hernia and now you want to be pregnant. Yes, absolutely after having this surgery you can bear a child without any concern if you had not done vasectomy because that leads to permanent stop on child birth.

Also weight loss is good if you are too obese for pregnancy because during pregnancy you need little diet more and this may also increase some ponds during pregnancy. So, you are fit for next pregnancy and there will be no problems with weight loss and surgery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
