Is Pregnancy Possible After Missing A Dose Of Contraceptive Pill?
Hi my girlfriend normally uses yasminelle as a contraceptive and I wear condoms. The other day she forgot to take it at her usual time. She was about 16-17 hours past her time. This happens the odd time but we never had any issues. Except my condom may have failed on this occasion. She is in week 3 of her cycle and reckons she doesn t need the emergency contrception pill. But I disagree and wish to be on the safe side. Should I have a cause for concern here?
Pregnancy seems to be unlikely. If your girlfriend has missed one pill and taken the missed pill within 24 hours along with the next pill and continued to take the remaining pills at the usual time no additional contraceptive protection is needed. Hence, pregnancy seems to be unlikely.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
