Is Pregnancy Possible After Taking Postinor 2 Tablets?

Hello Docter. We had protected sex but a condom broke and he ejacuated everything inside me. We did not know at first until we saw the broken condom. This is around 9.00pm at October 29. Out of panic, we went to the pharmacy and they gave us Postinor (2 tablet version) which I took 10-15 minutes right after the incident. I woke up a feel a bit nausea and took the 2nd pill on 8.45am the next morning on October 30. I am so concern. My menstrual period is 6 days and starts usually on 15-16 of everymonth. I noticed the night of incident is my high fertilization period (according to the apps). Will i get pregnant? Various site said that postinor effectiveness is only 70-80%.

Hi.
I can understand your situation.

The emergency contraceptive pills like Positnor-2 if taken within 72 hours following an unprotected sex or contraceptive failure (sex during which a condom is broken) is up to 95% effective in preventing an unwanted pregnancy.

Since you seem to have taken two doses of Positnor-2 twelve hours apart, the chances of pregnancy are less.

However, your period might be different.

You might have a normal period at the expected time, or it may be delayed or occurs earlier than the expected time.

If your period is more than 5 days late or is unusually light or unusually heavy, or especially painful, you should contact a gynecologist to rule out an early pregnancy or menstrual irregularities.
