I have had a tubiligation and my tubes were cut burnt and tied now for 15 years since 01 and at the ten year mark the clamp has came off and I am now 43 and I have always been on time with my period and I am now going on two weeks late is there any possibility of pregnancy or what could cause this.

Hi, I think there have been cases of failure of ligation, but if tubes are burnt, there is very little chance of pregnancy. Anyways, you can do a urine pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy first. If negative, it can be perimenopausal symptom also or maybe some stress factor. You can take some medicines like meprate or deviry for inducing periods. If it happens again, you can get a serum FSH level done to see if you are about to attain menopause. If it is very high, then don't worry about it as you may be nearing menopause. Hope it helps.
