Is Pregnancy Possible At 37 Years After A History Of Miscarriage?

Hello,Me and my fiance are planning for our first child later this year. I am going to be 37 in a few weeks. I had a miscarriage back in 2008, and i was wondering whether it will effect my chances this time round of getting pregnant? The last time i was pregnant was unplanned but this time, i have started to folic acid and vitamins. I look forward to your reply.

Hi. You can be pregnant at this age but it is considered to be a high risk pregnancy. I will advise you to get investigated for the cause of miscarriage earlier like routine blood investigations including blood sugar, thyroid test, APLA (antiphopholipid evaluation) and karyotyping of both partners. Have a thorough discussion with your gynecologist before and you should be given all necessary treatment from day1 when you conceive and be under regular follow up.
It is good you have started folic acid and continue with that.
Thanks.
