Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Protected Intercourse?

Hi doctor, I had unprotected sex with my wife last night but i pulled it out just before ejaculation. We again did sex after 5 minutes but this time with a condom. Is there any chance that a drop of sperm present on my penis (the portion not covered bh condom) can fertilize her eggs and make het pregnant?

Hello,

Though the chances of pregnancy in your case are very less but still a small percent chance is there.

If you don't want to get pregnant at present it would be better that you take unwanted 72. It is an emergency contraception pill containing high dose of progesterone. It has to be taken within 72 hours of intercourse.

After taking it she should get withdrawal bleeding within 3 to 4 days. If she gets the withdrawal bleeding, then there are no chances of pregnancy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nazma Amman
