Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking I-pill?

Hi...I had unprotected sex. My boyfriend cum inside me. I took an Ipill imediately. However, next day I forgot that I had already taken a pill so I took another pill. It has been a week and I have not got my periods. The pregnancy test is negative though. What do you suggest?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern.

If you have unprotected sex and took the pill immediately, and took another pill the next day, then, no chance for pregnancy. You have been protected enough not to get pregnant.

Please keep in mind that the pills contain female hormones that would interfere with upcoming periods (delaying).

So, I do not think you are pregnant, but delayed periods due to hormones.

Watchful waiting advised.
All the best!
