Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking I-pill?

Actually i had sex on 24th of this month . And the condow broke. So to prevent pregnancy i bought her an ipill the next day. She took it within 30 hours. But she did not bleed the 2nd after having ipill as it happened the last time she took it. And now today was the day for her periods but it did not happen. What are the chances for her to get pregnant?

Hi

The emergency contraceptive pills like I-pill are up to 85% effective in preventing an unwanted pregnancy if taken as early as possible but within 72 hours following an unprotected sex.

She might have developed side effects due to hormonal imbalance caused by high content of progesterone hormone present in the I-pills.

Because of this her periods may be delayed. If her period is delayed by more than 5 days there is a possibility of her getting pregnant also due to the fact the your condom was broken during the sexual act.

To be sure get her pregnancy test done in that case and consult a gynecologist.

Hope this answers your query.
