Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking I-pill?

Hello Sir/Mam, My girlfriend has been facing some problems regarding her recent mensuratal behavior and would like to clarify them We had unprotected sex on the 2nd of November and she took a contraceptive pill within 24 hours (ipill) She had her periods 10-12 days later almost a week earlier than expected. The flow was lighter compared to what she usually has and it was preceded by spotting I suppose( I am not sure) It s 27th of November today and she has started to have spotting again from yesterday... She is reluctant to take a pregnancy test and is convinced she is not pregnant.. Please put some light in the matter and clarify the doubts/facts.

Hello dear
I understand your concern
Disturbance in the menstrual cycle is due to hormonal imbalance caused by the I pill as it contain high progesterone level.
Bleeding that occur after 10 days is breakthrough bleeding due to progesterone withdrawal effect.
Bleeding on 27th november could be a starting of normal period or intermenstrual bleeding due to hormonal imbalance.
Next Period can be delayed/earlier then expected date, excessive bleeding can occur.
Chance of pregnancy is less as I pill was taken with in 24 hour of sex and it was highly effective in preventing the pregnancy.
If period will not normalize and spotting continue then consult the gynecologist.
Avoid stress, take healthy diet, drink plenty of water, do regular exercise, maintain proper pelvic hygiene.
Hope this may help you
