Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Nordette Pills Post Unprotected Sex?

My last mentrual period is july 19 and we did our deed yesterday august 5 ,2015 i take 4nordette pills as ecp after 10hours because accidentally the cobdom got broke..then i will take another 4 pills after 12hours..is it possible that i will get pregnant?

Hi,

Thanks for writing in HCM.

Nordette contains Ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel that prevent ovulation and is used as birth control pill.

However, it can be used as emergency contraception if the following protocol has been followed.

Take 4 light-orange pills within 120 hours after unprotected sex and 4 more light-orange pills 12 hours later.

Following this, you need to get your periods within 3 weeks from the day you have taken the first dose. That says that you are not pregnant. In case you don't get your periods in time, you need to seek medical help.
