Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Option 72 After Intercourse?

I had intercourse on 14th may with my would be husband where in he didnt ejaculate completely inside me but still i had a fear of getting pregnant. Therefore i took option 72 within 8 hrs. I had my period due on 13th may but i postponed it by taking regestrone pills since 11th. Could you please suggest if there are any chances of pregnancy or period issues. Last period date was 19 th april.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

The intercourse period was not during the periovulatory period, so there are very fewer chances of pregnancy.

Over that, there was immediate consumption of I-pill within 8 hours of the unprotected sex.

The altered menses pattern is due to using Regestrone, so you have to wait until the next menstrual cycle to make the things smoother.

Take all due precautions during that period, to avoid pregnancy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
