Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Plan-B?

I had sex and we noticed there was a slight tear in the side (not the tip) of the condom. I couldn t tell/feel if anything was inside me. I took plan b thirty minutes after. I also started taking oral contraceptives for the first time on the same night (sept 1). My period is usually on the 19th of every month. I don t know if I should expect a period at all. When should I take a pregnancy test?

Hello,

There are very less chances of conceiving even if there was a tear in condom, as you have already taken OCP's.

Still if your periods will be delayed by a week from your date of your periods then I suggest you go for a pregnancy test.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Naira Jahangir, OB and GYN Specialist
