Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Plan-B?

Hi. I had unprotected sex on 1st september and I took the plan b pill after 48 hours. I am supposed to start my period week. Today I had cramps like i do before my periods and then i spotted blood. I thought my periods have come ealrlier. but there is no blood since then. I am highly bloated and constipated and having cramps. Is this normal?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to health care magic

You have taken emergency pill after unprotected intercourse

Just now having cramps and blood spotting

So if your period not come and delayed for ten days than pregnancy should be ruled out by Hcg estimation by urine card test

Your pelvic examination also should be done and if needed USG done to rule out pelvic inflammatory disease like condition

If pregnancy not present than specific cause searched for by USG and per speculum examination and accordingly treatment done

Take care

Gynecologist consultation advisable for examination and further work up
