Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Postinor-2?

Hi i had sex five days after my periods then I took postinor 2 38hours after sex but took da tablets at an interval of 14hrs after the other. It s now two days since i last took the postinor 2 tablets but am experiencing cramps and lower abdominal pain. Could these be signs of early pregnancy??? Plz help. Thnx

I can understand your concern regarding the efficacy of Postinor-2 following unprotected sex.

Based on reports from WHO, the post coital contraceptive like Postinor-2 is 52–94% effective in preventing pregnancy. It is found to be more effective the sooner (within 72 hours) after the unprotected sex it is taken.

Since you had taken the pills 5 days after your periods, it can be an UNSAFE period to have sex, and the fact that you have cramps and lower abdominal pain the possibility of pregnancy can not be ruled out.

So, to be sure get the pregnancy test done on the early morning urine sample.

Hi, postinor 2 is an emergency contraceptive pills, that contains progesterone hormone.
As you have taken it within 72 hours of exposure, you should be adequately protected.
However, second dose delayed by mere 2 hours is a little matter of concern.
But the pregnancy could, only be confirmed by doing urine pregnancy test, with early morning urine sample.
