Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Postinor 2?

Hi good morning.. i had sex with my boyfriend and he said he poured very tiny so immediately i bought postinor2 and took it for 2days... i had already seen my period at th beginning of this month before the incident and I m seeing it again now... I m so worried what could the problem be please?

Hi,

I understand your concern. Postinor 2 is an emergency contraceptive pill. You have done the right thing by taking it as per the schedule it needs to be taken. The pill would prevent pregnancy by causing breakthrough bleeding within 3 weeks from the day of its intake. Hence, what bleeding you are noticing is nothing but breakthrough bleeding. So, you need not be worried about pregnancy. Kindly ensure to take proper precautions by use of contraceptives when you indulge in intercourse next time.
