Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking A Plan B Pill?

I removed my nexplanon last month due to me wanting to give my body a break, but last night my partner wasn t able to hold back. I took a one step plan b within that hour but I am still very concerned. Now he also takes adderall for ADHD ( has taken it off and off since chilldhood) so I m wondering if that will lower the chances of being pregnant.

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Plan B is an emergency contraceptive pill.
What you have done is right by taking it by 1 hour after the intercourse, as such pill need to be taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse. Earlier it is taken, the protection seems to be better.
The pill should prevent pregnancy by causing withdrawal bleeding within 3 weeks from the day of its intake.
If the bleeding doesn't happen by 3 weeks, you need to take a urine pregnancy test and seek medical attention promptly. The chances of failure of such pill is about 10 to 15%.
Taking medication for ADHD is not known to be associated with decreased fertility.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
