Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking An Emergency Contraceptive Pill?

I had unprotected sex 6 days after my period. I took an emergency contraceptive within 12 hours. After almost a week of taking the pill, I had cramps. On the 9th day, I started bleeding. I bled for 2 days and it was lighter than my normal period. My breast and nipples also have been hurting for 3 days now. Is it the effect of the emergency contraceptive ? Hello,

No any contraceptive is completely effective against preventing pregnancy, still emergency contraceptive pills are most effective.

For its effectiveness, it should be taken as early as possible or within 72 hours.

Still in case of missed period, kindly consult with gynecologist.

He may procure urine pregnancy test and ultrasound abdomen and pelvis to rule out pregnancy.

Further treatment mainly depends upon as per reports.

Do regular blood pressure monitoring
