Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Emergency Contraceptive Pills After Intercourse?
i had sex with my partner on 25-26 march, it was an unprotected sex but i had emergency pills within 48 hrs. after that i had my regular dates on 2 April. but suddenly after 5 days i saw dark brown blood spotting but only for one day. i am feeling week and certain leg pain is also there n mood swings. is there any chance of getting pregnant after having pills and regular dates.
After taking the emergency contraceptive pill, you need to get withdrawal bleeding within a week to ten days. What brown discharge you have experienced could be discharged of retained blood.
If bleeding doesn't happen in 10 days, you need to take a urine pregnancy test and consult Obstetrician for clinical evaluation and appropriate management. Failure to protect against pregnancy with an emergency contraceptive pill is around 10%.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
