General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello dear
I understand your concern
Yes pregnancy is possible as you did not take the birth control pill regularly and complete dose.
To prevent the pregnancy it should be take starting from the 1st day of period to up to 21st day of period (you have to take total 21 tablet).
But you have taken form the 3rd day and for only 16 days.
So it decrease the efficacy of the BC pill for preventing the pregnancy.
You should go for pregnancy test 8-10 days after the missed period to confirm the pregnancy.
If you do not want the pregnancy then still it can be terminated by abortion pill under the advise of gynecologist.
Avoid stress, take healthy diet and drink plenty of water
Hope this may help you
