Is Pregnancy Possible Post Prolonged Usage Of Depo Shot And Mirena Coil?
I was on depo shot for ten years and never had a mentral period. I then went right over to the Merina and I have replaced it twice , now being ten yrs this month. so Within the 20 yrs I cant recall one full period, maybe spotting here and there. We are ready, yes late, 42yrs old to try for a baby. Would it be a chance I would start my period and concieve or it me kinda impossible since it has been so long? not sure if its worth trying just to be let down. or is there certain affordable hormones my md can give me at the time of removal to start taking to enhance my chances? of course I dont want twins, lol. just one! thanks
Your period should restart within weeks to months to discontinuing the hormonalcontraception. This is the case for most persons.
If this is occurs and it is normal and regular then it is possible that you may conceive without any problems. If your period does not return then you may need to be assessed by your doctor and hormonal medication given to help you.
Conception should be possible with or without intervention unless there are issues with the uterus, tubes or with your partner.
I hope this helps
