Is Pregnancy Possible Post Unprotected Sex While On Deprovera Injection?

Hi I m a 20 year old female I have unprotected sex with my partner who I plan to spend the rest of my life with I ve told him about the symptoms I m having which is severe nusea, hot flushes, frequant urination, dark spotting for a day, cravings ,headaches, mood swings, tender breasts and heightened sense of smell, I ve done a hcg home pregnancy test which showed negative and another thing is im on the deprovera injection, and I m only due for my next shot on the 21st of april, I have read that the injection can fail, I ve been having these symptoms for about 3 weeks now, I don t feel myself , I ve looked my symptoms online and they all say early signs of pregnancy, what else could be the cause of these symptoms?

Hello and welcome.

Causes other than pregnancy can be a urinary tract infection, sexually transmitted infections, hormonal imbalances, etc. I would recommend a urine analysis and a check on hormone levels.

I agree with you that pregnancy is not the onlt cause for any irregularities and such symptoms. 3 weeks is a long duration of time, but you cannot yet be sure about whether or not pregnancy is accurately ruled out because you may have not yet experienced youe next period? Speak to your doctor as frequent urination is a possible sign of an infection.
