Is Pregnancy Possible Through Protected Sexual Intercourse?

Hi, I had protected sex on the 25th of July and expected my period on the 14th of August and it still hasn t come. The condom we used had been sitting out of its packet but I didn t observe any holes in it. I started taking vitamin C tablets last week to try and cause a natural miscarriage as I am not ready for a child but no bleeding has started yet and I am freaking out. How likely is it that I m pregnant?

If we use Vaseline, oil etc as a lubricant directly on the condom, it may decrease the efficacy of the Latex (the material condom is made of). That's why water based lubricants e.g K.Y. gel are advised by the fertility and contraception experts.

There are less chances of pregnancy, but you never know of the minor leakages in the condom as the failure rate of condom is increasing with the same extent as condom use is ever increasing.

I preferably suggest you to please go for a urine pregnancy test in a laboratory for a complete satisfaction and peace of mind.

And remember there is no role of Vitamin C tablets in abortion. Don't rely on them. If you need no pregnancy, you need to go for the laboratory test and if positive, go to a gynecologist right away for proper help. Gynecologists are expert and trained to treat such ceases with success.
