Is Pregnancy Possible Upon Having Intercourse On The First Day Of Menstruation?
Hello doctor,
I am from bangalore.
Me and my wife had umprotected sex 15 days back that is on her first day of her period.
Is there a chance of pregnancy?
Because my wife feeling head ache and other symptoms like pregnancy.
So if yes, how we could avoid the pregnancy as my wife is not fit yet to proceed for baby birth.
kindly suggest.

No a woman would not get pregnant upon having intercourse on the first day of menstruation. Pregnancy happens when a woman has sexual intercourse near to days in which she has ovulation(release of egg). Ovulation possibility on first day of menstruation is almost zero. Therefore you & your wife should not worry she would not get pregnant.
However a woman canget pregnant if sexual intercourse in done in later days of menstruation(3-last day). It is always better to use protection if pregnancy is unwanted. Also i would like to tell you there is no method to prevent pregnancy after 15 days of sexual intercourse except opting for abortion. The symptoms your wife is facing should be related to anxiety or some other problem.
