Hi, I am a girl with little sexual experience and I have a doubt. I had safe sex almost three days ago, we used a condom. Only this morning I had a sudden concern that it may have been ripped, so I checked it (I had it in my bin still). It was not broken, so I stopped concerning about it and went for a wash. Only later did I realise that I had touched my vagina without washing my hands before (apart from taking some soap obviously). I know that the seminal fluid is uneffective after a little time, but I fear that in the condom it could have last longer, and maybe I touched it. Should I worry?
General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
The seminal fluid liquefied within few months of ejaculation and no longer remains sticky and risky. Sperms also get perished after exposure to atmosphere. If you have not noticed any crack and dribbling OT of the fluid inside. You should be concerned because the crack can allow semen to escape in vagina, otherwise, no worry.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
