Is Pregnancy Possible While On Estradiol Valerate?

Hello doctor, I was taking estradiol valerate tablets and this cycle I have taken tablets for 28 days. Normally I get my periods in 28 to 30 days but this time it is 37th day and af has not come yet. We are TTC and I want to be pregnant this time. Hopefully. I m nt experiencing any pregnancy symptoms.can be pregnant? Or these tablets delay period?

Hello,

It is possible that periods may delay sometimes because of stress. Contraceptive pills also have some failure rate although it varies from 0.5-1%. So, if sexual intercourse has been done during mid cycle there are chances of getting pregnant.

First of all, you do urine pregnancy test using kit readily available in the market. Use morning first urine sample for the test. If it is positive that means you are pregnant.

If it is negative, consult gynecologist to confirm by ultrasound test. One thing I have to mention is that pregnancy within short periods of using contraceptive pills has chance of some abnormalities in fetus.

If you are pregnant please get usual checkups and get different investigation done to rule out any abnormalities in fetus.
