Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have the Mirena IUD and my husband has had a vasectomy for the last 7 years. I am a very fertile mertile. We have 7 kids together. Is there still a chance I can t get pregnant? It s been 5 years since we had our last.. is this even possible. I have gotten pregnant with mirena before hence the reason I still have mirena and he got a vasectomy. I didn t think this was possible. But I m having signs of pregnancy. I ve been nauseous and I ve had random nosebleeds like with my oldest daughter. I m so confused.
With Mirena fewer (0.8%) women get pregnant. If your husband has a vasectomy done, in rare cases it is possible for the sperms to find its way across the void between the two blocked ends of the vas deferens.
However, if you are having symptoms of pregnancy & have missed your periods you ought to get a pregnancy test done at the earliest. Get connected to a gynecologist, get physically examined to get confirmed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
