Is Pregnancy Possible While On Norifam?

Hi Dra, Good day! I am currently using Norifam injectables as a contraceptive. Last month, I missed getting it on time. Instead of me having it on the dates of either Nov 27 to 29, I had it on November 30. After that, I was advised to go back there between Dec 27 to 29 to get the monthly norifam shot. Today is supposed to be the last day to get it. But.. I do not have my menstruation yet since LMP Nov 20. Now, is it possible that I am conceiving? Is there really a possibility of me getting pregnant while on Norifam? I was advised to go back there once I have my menstruation for the month of December, they did not give me the norifam. Please advise. Your help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Although this is not very likely, it is however possible that pregnancy occurs so you had one risky intercourse and if this happened during your ovulation period it is possible that pregnancy occur,but considering your description of it, this risk is minor.To be sure you should do pregnancy test which can be done when period is missed or 8 days after the targeted intercourse so at this point it would be accurate enough to detect possible pregnancy. Standard urine test would be enough for it since this is almost 99% accurate.
