Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Doc I have 9 year old daughter, I started patogen after birth 2007 since then I never menstruate,i stopped using ejection dec 2016, Its 2017 now, I am married and we are planning to extend family, is there any chance to fall pregnant even though I don t go to my periods
If you have had your Petrogen birth control shots received on a recommended basis, your chances of being pregnant is highly unlikely. Also, it is normal for you not to get your periods as a change in the menstrual cycle is the most common side effect. In fact, after a year of use, about 50% of women will stop getting their periods. Their periods usually return when they discontinue the shots.
Some women experience weight gain and you can talk to your doctor about it (the injection/shot as a method of birth control is so effective that you might want to look into diet and exercise to help you with your weight gain rather than just stopping this form of birth control alltogether).
I hope you are helped
Regards Dr. Tripat Mehta
