Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have had the copper t IUD for 3 1/2 yrs. I have had a period, regularly every month except this past July. (It lasted the almost the whole month)It is now September 26, in late July, early August while having intercourse with my husband he hit my IUD and it hurt bad. 2 weeks after something poked him. About a week ago it poked him again. I am contacting you because I am a week late and feel pregnant. I have had three pregnancies before, but the symptoms could be chalked off as PMS, or the fact that I am stressed and wishful thinking for another. I have taken 4 at home test and 2 were invalid and 2 were negative. I have an appointment with my Dr but not for another 2 weeks, please help.
General & Family Physician, Dr. Prakruthi's Response
Hi,
Usually, the copper T should cause you or your partner so much discomfort. It may have been displaced. In the meantime, it's wise to repeat the urine test weekly. The urine tests are very sensitive and if you are pregnant it will tell you most of the times.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Prakruthi, General & Family Physician
