General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Fertility is regained soon after birth control measures are stopped or expired. Once birth control IUD gets expired, it no longer offers protection and hence the chances of conceiving is greater.

Since pregnancy test has come positive during the first instance, it is always to better to confirm with an ultrasound scan. Kindly take an ultrasound scan and consult an obstetrician with the report for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.

Hope the information provided help. Let me know if I can assist you further.

All the best.
