Is Presence Of Family Not Required While Undergoing Chemotherapy For Thyroid Cancer?

My niece is 37 years old and recently told she has thyroid cancer. Surgery was done says chemotherapy is scheduled in March, while her kids are on Spring vacation. She says that her physician told her there could be no family present while undergoing chemotherapy? Is there any type of chemo that requires no family to be present? I have asked several questions but she does not know much about the type of cancer and I think she has confused what her physician said to her.

I've read your query and i understand your concern for your niece
Chemotherapy is the use of drugs to kill cancer cells. However, when most people use the word chemotherapy they are referring specifically to drug treatments for cancer that destroy cancer cells by stopping their ability to grow and divide.

If your niece is regular in attending her scheduled doctor appointments, then usually there is no absolute necessity for the family to be present.
Having family by her side might give her moral support and increase her will to follow the prescribed medications, but you can always stay in touch through social media and boost her spirit to fight this cancer.
