Is Pressure In The Chest Upon Lying Down A Matter Of Concern?

Slight chest pressure only when laying down....no pain, no breathing difficulty, no fever, no sweating, no funny “gray” color to my skin. But my Dr said he heard a clicking sound in my chest. Should I be concerned? He has requested a chest X-ray and I’m on Humera.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Since your all symptom is chest pain without breathlessness, possibility of musculoskeletal pain is more. But your doctor heard something so better to get done chest X-ray to rule out lung diseases. Chest X-ray is normal then no need to worry much. Apply warm water pad on affected areas of chest. Take simple painkiller like paracetamol or acetaminophen. Avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise. Avoid sudden jerky movements of chest. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
