Is Progressive Bruising In Palms, Knuckles And Hands After Injury A Cause For Concern?

My 78 yr mother fell. Broke her fall with her hand. Took to emgency room. Xray --not broken. Wrapped wrist to knuckle. Minima bruising. Some in palm and on knuckle. She thought she had pushed her fingers back when fell. Fingers and weist mocement good but sore. Going to hand surgery as a just in case followup. Bruising now moving up fingers to ends above Hand wrap. Swelling. Should we be concerned? Gonna take off wrap to soak with epson salt for a while.
