Is Prolonged Bleeding Normal After Taking Duphaston?
Hi, My doctor prescribed me a duphaston 10mg in 3 weeks for my irregular monthly cycle after a week I got menstruations till now in almost 2weeks is it normal the long days of my menstruations?,in my pelvic abdominal sonogrphy report impression is thickened endometrium cause of endometrial hyperplasia..my also questions is I can still conceive a baby?I had a 2 miscarriage and I m 34 yrs old now.. Pls enlighten me.thanks
Duphaston is a synthetic hormonal drug which is given to regularise irregular menses and also helps in conception.
Initially it may cause abnormal bleeding and also changes in the endometrial lining but slowly it will regularise the menses. Kindly take the course of Duphaston as prescribed by your gynaecologist. But if bleeding continues more than 3-4 weeks or is very heavy and causes considerable blood loss and fatigue, please report the same to your gynecologist.
Hope this helps.
Regards, Dr Geeta
