Is Prolonged Usage Of Domstal Advisable For An Infant?
We started giving domstal for my baby when she was s month old since she has reflux. We are still continuing as per dr advice. She is 3 months and a week old now. Is it safe to use the medicine this long? What of we need to further continue? I am concerned about the side effects.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
You should avoid to put baby down on bed immediately after feeding. Keep her turned on one side or hold her sitting in your lap while you pat on her back gently or hold her upright with her head on your shoulder and pat her back till she burps, yawns or hiccoughs to expel the air swallowed while drinking milk. This can prevent her reflex and at least, the need of medicine would be reduced.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
