Hello and welcome to HCM,
Budamate is a steroid preparation and its long term use is associated with certain side effects.
Treatment of asthma depends on the frequency and severity of symptoms.
Steroids are usually prescribed when symptoms are persistent and are of moderate to severe in intensity.
However, the steroids are interspersed with other group of drugs also based on regular follow up and assessment of symptoms.
Thus, I suggest you to consult your treating doctor for clinical assessment and assessment of your medication also.

Thanks and take care
