Is Psoriasis A Genetic Problem?

My feeling always has been that psoriasis is genetic. I had a classmate in high school who was affected with it. She was an only child of a well to do family . Otherwise completely healthy. She was 17 years old! Why psoriasis....... Genetic was obvious. My doctor thinks I have it, he s wrong it s bug bites , his dx: psoriasis ....he gave me this $300.00 cream it did nothing . I do not and never had psoriasis.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If you are not sure of your doctor's diagnosis then you may want to consider visiting another dermatologist for a second opinion, this should clear this up for you.

Psoriasis is related to environmental, genetic and immunologic factors. A number of different issues play a role in this condition.

I hope this helps
