Is Psoriasis Related With Dry And Scaly Spots In The Body?

I have lots of small /medium scaley spots on my upper body and arms. They started out on my arm just one spot small and dry they have spread to my chest. I have them before, just a few spots year ago. I thought were psoriasis doctor said no now sending to specialists. I have RA and fibromyalgia was also told by one day I have lupus. Could it be psoriasis?

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have dry and scaly spots in the body and you are wondering if they are due to psoriasis . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like contact dermatitis , psoriasis , eczema , seborrheic eczema , allergic reaction and drug reaction . I would suggest you to clean your skin with normal water and mild soap , apply petroleum jelly as moisturizer and take benadryl twice a day . Do not exposure your body to sun . Consult dermatologist for proper checkup . Doctor may order skin patch test , skin biopsy , blood test and allergy test . Doctor may prescribe corticosteroid ointment , immunosuppressants , antibiotics ( clindamycin ) , vitamin d supplement and retinoids .
