Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Recurring Feeling Of Heartbeat In Neck A Cause For Concern?
Ever since I recently turned 40 like a month now. I have had off and on times when I can feel my heartbeat in my neck may last a couple of hours or minutes then goes away . I have history of high BP in the family. I don t feel bad no other symptoms with it and I remain my active life. Should I be concerend I have read it s common.
High BP may not show any symptoms. It usually is silent. But if you are feeling the pulse on your neck and feel heartbeat, you should go consult a doctor for associated tests. Stress, anxiety, obsession can also show these symptoms, for you to be calm. Therefore I suggest consulting a physician for physical examination, diagnosis and treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. K. V. Anand, Psychologist
