Is Redness And Soreness Of The Penis A Cause For Concern?

Over the past two days my penis has been giving me some issues it is red and sore. It almost feels like I have a rash or it is chaffed. I am not sexually active with anyone other than my wife. I have like a clear looking fever blister on the tip of my penis. Should I be concerned?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Most probably it will be a superficial infection.

As a first line management, you can apply topical antibiotics like Mupirocin after cleaning with soap and water.

If symptoms persist, better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
