Is Redness Around The Area Of Wart Removal Normal?
Hello, I had have remowed a sebborheic wart with electrocrautery last Tuesday by a dermatologist. I have not noticed anything unusual until Friday. However, since Friday there is a red area around the wound. It is tender as well, but only a little tenderness that i feel. Is redness normal? When should I expect the redness to go? Thanks, Dorothy
Redness can occur after wart removal, however it usually settles down in a few days. If redness increases or appear a few days after the procedure, it could be a sign of early infection. I would recommend to visit your doctor to get it examined. If the doctor thinks that it is infection, she/he might prescribe some antibiotics.
I hope this answer helps. Please feel free to ask if you have any other questions. Have a nice day.
Sincerely, Dr. Waqas Hayat.
