Is Redness On The Finger A Concern?

I take xarelto 20 mg. I just today noticed a reddened area on the top of the middle portion of my left ring finger between knuckles. I didn t knowingly bruise the area. It doesn t hurt. it doesn t itch. It s not swollen. It s just noticeably reddened in this one area. Is this significant?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your case history of redness on a finger, my treatment advice is:

1. Do not squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like Fusiderm cream on it.
3. Take a vitamin B12 supplement for 3 months.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
