Is Redness, Pain And Bruising Normal After An Injury?

Hello. 3 days ago I was hit between my shin and calf area. The point of impact is red and numb. The outer area is bruising and changing colors as a normal bruise does. I still have an obscene amount of swelling despite elevating, icing, and anti-inflammatory pills. I can walk on it with minimal pain. What concerns me is the red area and numbness. I do not have insurance. Wondering if this is normal or a sign of something worse than a deep bruise.
